She won the prestigious Transcontinental Race in 2016\, covering nearly 4\,000km across Europe\, non-stop and self-supported. Watch BMX club members showcase their skills on the track.\n\n\n\nFor those feeling adventurous\, don protective gear provided by the BMX Club and saddle up on a BMX bike for an unforgettable ride on the track. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or trying BMX for the first time\, this is your chance to embrace the excitement and challenge of the sport.\n\n\n\nAfter the BMX session\, we’ll retrace our path back to Chesterfield via the same route\, arriving back by 9pm. Please ensure you bring lights for the return journey.\n\n\n\n\nImportant Information: \n\n\n\n\nThe ride to Ringwood Park is suitable for cyclists of all abilities\, with an easy-moderate pace.\n\n\n\nThis is mostly a level ride on tarmac or compacted earth to Hollingwood Hub and then an uphill road\, half a mile to the park.\n\n\n\nPeople wishing to ride on the BMX track should be confident cyclists. Protective gear will be provided by the BMX Club along with a BMX bike.\n\n\n\nThe ride will depart from Queens Park promptly at 6pm\, so please ensure you arrive on time to join the group. \n\n\n\nIf you’re unable to make the start\, you can meet us directly at the BMX Track at Ringwood Park at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cycling journey from the Queens Park Cafe in Chesterfield\, to the tranquil haven of Avenue Works Nature Reserve. Discover the story of this former industrial site’s transformation into a thriving nature reserve\, as we explore scenic cycle paths and enjoy some nature along the way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHighlights: \n\n\n\n\nImmerse yourself in the beauty of Avenue Works Nature Reserve\, where lush greenery and tranquil water await. Learn about the site’s remarkable metamorphosis from heavy industry to a flourishing sanctuary for wildlife.\n\n\n\nTake a short break at the bird hides\, where you can soak in the serenity of the surroundings and possibly even observe some of the birdlife that calls the reserve home.\n\n\n\n\nOn the ride we’ll decide whether to extend the route to Grasmoor Country Park\, returning to Chesterfield via Hasland. If we extend the route to Grassmoor Country Park there is a short steep hill up a tarmac road and then a gentle tarmac climb towards Hasland before dropping back into Chesterfield \n\n\n\nImportant Information: \n\n\n\n\nThis ride is suitable for cyclists of all abilities\, with a slow pace ensuring everyone can enjoy the journey.\n\n\n\nThis ride has a short steep hill to get into Avenue Works on a stony gravel surface. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of family fun at the Holmebrook Valley Park Cycle Funday\, where we’ll have a variety of exciting activities and cycling games. The event will feature free bike repairs by Dr Bike\, various stalls\, and the opportunity to relax and picnic in the park. \n\n\n\nYou’ll find us close to the pavilion. \n\n\n\nPart of Chesterfield Cycling Festival. \n\n\n\nRide to the park with us\n\n\n\nSome of us are riding up from Queen’s Park up to Holmebrook Valley Park\, and back again later. You’re more than welcome to join us for the ride up\, or you can make your own way to the fun day. \n\n\n\nWe will meet outside Queens Park Cafe at 11am and will follow the cycle paths and quiet roads to the park at a leisurely pace. This is an easy ride of about 30 to 40 minutes. The ride will leave the Holmebrook Valley to get back to Queens Park at about 2pm. If you’re riding up with us please reserve your free space for the ride to help us manage numbers.
