This week the new cycle path connecting Markham Vale to the Seymour Link Road was officially opened!
This new route begins at the roundabout near the Markham Vale Environment Centre, running behind the warehouses and through a picturesque wetland area before joining the shared path alongside the Seymour Link Road, near its junction with Erin Road. The path is wide, tarmac and elevated above the wetland area.
The addition of this path further strengthens the cycling infrastructure in the Markham Vale area, creating better connectivity for both recreational riders and commuters. From here:
- To the South: Access the bottom of Bolsover Hill, or link up with the Stockley Trail to Glapwell
- To the North-East: Connect with the Clowne Greenway, another popular cycling route.
- To the West: A short ride takes you to the Trans-Pennine Trail, offering access to destinations like Chesterfield, Sheffield, and beyond.
Two new bike repair points are located along the route, equipped with pumps and essential tools to help cyclists keep rolling.
