Saturday Ride – Chesterfield to Stockley Trail
Sat May 16 @ 10:00 am
We’ll have a group ride out starting from the Queen’s Park Cafe, to ride the Stockley trail and then return back to Queen’s Park via the Trans-Pennine Trail. All welcome.
The ride will be about 20 miles (33km) with around 1000ft (450m) of ascent on a mixture of quiet roads and cycle trails.
After riding to Spital, Calow Green and entering Sutton Spring Woods on tarmaced roads, we will use unmade / farm roads to Sutton Scarsdale. From there it’s back on quiet roads until we reach the Stockley trail. We’ll first head south towards Bramley Vale before retracing north and then riding the northern half of the trail to Peter Fidler nature reserve at the bottom of Bolsover hill. Bike paths then take us to Poolsbrook, where we’ll stop for coffee and cake. Suitably refreshed, we’ll use the Trans-pennine trail to Brimington, where we’ll ride down Crow Lane and then cycle the station link path back to Queen’s Park.
