Thank you for advising us of the revised plans for ‘The Glass Yard’.

Chesterfield Cycle Campaign comments relating to cycle parking on site:

Unfortunately there is no easy indication of measurement on the latest site plan. The two areas of cycle parking are between a footway and vehicle parking bays. This is not ideal, there will need to be at least 2m between the footways and parking bays to enable a bicycle to be parked and from the plans we are unsure if that distance is achievable.

There is also the problem of cars/vans overhanging the kerb which will reduce the space available for bicycles and potential damage to the cycle parking racks.

We suggest a better place for cycle parking will be on the opposite side of the footway (shown on the site plan as blue blocks), that way there will be no interference from vehicles and we ask that the architects/developers are advised of this and relocate the cycle parking. Our comments refer to both cycle parking areas but we show just the northern one below:
