Most of the ride will be on cycle paths and trails, there is a steep climb out of Chesterfield but other than that the ride is relatively easy. Total distance starting and finishing at the station is 12.7 miles.

Suitable for a commuter/gravel/road/mtb cycle, but mudguards fitted would be ideal if it is raining and gears for climbing, especially at the start. The ride is suitable for older children of level two bikeability training age. The ride will be marshalled by DC members, so will probably split into groups.
