Chesterfield Cycle Festival 2025

Friday 4th July – Sunday 13th July 2025

A celebration of cycling for everyone!

Join us this July for ten days of rides and events showcasing Chesterfield’s cycle network, local clubs, and the joy of getting around by bike. Whether you ride every day or just dust off your wheels once a year, there’s something for you.

  • Free, club-led rides for all abilities — from family rides to more adventurous outings
  • A chance to meet local cycling groups, explore new routes, and get inspired

Festival Programme

Friday 4th July

Holmebrook and Beyond a Cycle Chesterfield Friday Night Ride starting at 18:30 outside the town hall.

Saturday 5th July

The Avenue Works Loop with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 10.

Dr Bike is in the Queen’s Park car park between 0930-1300, for your free minor bike repairs.

Holymoorside and the Lamb Inn Circuit with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 2pm.

Sunday 6th July

A Fascinating Chesterfield History Ride with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 10am.

A ride to Adam’s Happy Hens with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 2pm.

Monday 7th July

Trans-pennine Trail Loop with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 6.30pm.

Tuesday 8th July

Trail ride to Pleasley Vale with the Spire Cycling Club, starting from the Queen’s Park leisure centre at 9.15am.

Peaks Road Ride with Bolsover & District Cycling Club, starting from the Olde House in Newbold at 6.30pm.

Wednesday 9th July

East Extravaganza to Clumber with Women Cycle Too, starting from the Town End car park in Bolsover at 10am.

Road & Gravel to Albert Inn at Woodthorpe with the Dronfield Clarion Cycling Club, starting from the Chesterfield Railway Station at 6.30pm.

Thursday 10th July

Tansley & Ogston Road ride with Spire Cycling Club, starting from the Queen’s Park leisure centre at 9.15am.

Whittington Circuit via the Cock & Magpie with Cycle Chesterfield, starting from the Queen’s Park Café at 6.30pm.

Friday 11th July

Adapted Cycling – Inclusive Pedals will be demonstrating their fleet of adapted bikes by the Queen’s Park Cricket Pavilion between 1 and 3.

Chesterfield Gravel Ride with Bolsover & District Cycling Club, starting from the Wharf Lane footbridge in Chesterfield.

Saturday 12th July

Bolsover Mining Loop with Cycle Chesterfield, starting at 9am from the Queen’s Park Café.

Hollingwood to Creswell Crags with Women Cycle too, starting at 10am at the Hollingwood Hub.

Hetty Kingston will be sharing her tales of cycling adventures at St Thomas’ centre from 7.30pm.

Sunday 13th July

The Ben Vernon Charity Ride will be starting at 10am from Vicar Lane. All proceeds to Cancer Research UK.

Dr Bike is at the Hollingwood Hub between 10am and 2pm, for your free minor bike repairs.
